On July 10, 2025, during the Graduation Gala of the Faculty of Mechanical, Industrial, and Transport Engineering (FIMIT) of the Technical University of Moldova, representatives of the NeedEDU project team – Enhancing mechanical Engineering education in Moldova for Industry 4.0 – delivered an active intervention focused on encouraging the continuous educational path of young engineers.
During the event, Prof. Larisa BUGAIAN and Assoc. Prof. Rodion CIUPERCĂ promoted the inter-university master’s program “Smart Industries and Digital Transformation,” presenting its learning opportunities, curriculum structure, advanced practical component, and the support offered to students through the digital infrastructure developed within the NeedEDU project.
Rodion CIUPERCĂ, associate professor and member of the project implementation team, addressed the bachelor’s graduates, encouraging them to continue their academic and professional development in a cutting-edge field undergoing rapid expansion: the digitalization of industrial processes and the advancement of smart industries. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of strengthening both transversal and technical skills through a master’s program tailored to current labor market demands and focused on innovation.
The event was honored by the presence of business representatives who actively support the partnership between academia and industry. Alexandru SPÂNU, General Manager of AvantCAD S.R.L., and Mihai LITVINCIUC, General Manager of SteelWise Engineering S.R.L., delivered motivational messages to the young engineers, encouraging them to pursue master’s studies, leveraging the complementarity between academic training and professional integration in the field of digitally-assisted engineering design and manufacturing.
This initiative is part of a series of promotional and career guidance activities organized under the NeedEDU project, whose main objective is to support the modernization of engineering education by aligning it with current labor market requirements and facilitating the transition towards smart industries.
