On December 4, 2025, the fourth Monitoring and Quality Assurance (MQA) virtual meeting within the ERASMUS+ project NEEDEDU4.0 – Enhancing Mechanical Engineering Education in Moldova for Industry 4.0 was successfully held via MS Teams. The meeting was organized by the Work Package 4 leader, UNITBV, and brought together members of the Quality Assurance Board (QAB), the Advisory Group (AG), and the project management team.

The primary objective of the meeting was to review the progress achieved to date, assess the quality of implemented activities, and ensure alignment with the project’s strategic objectives and quality standards. Particular attention was given to monitoring the implementation of activities scheduled for the second half of Year 2.
In accordance with the approved work plan, the following key activities were reviewed:
-
Development of the handbook and training content in PPT format for the NIMP program (Task 2.3);
-
Career guidance activities targeting potential applicants for the NIMP program (Task 3.1);
-
Completion of the NIMP content on the joint Moodle platform shared by the three Moldovan partner universities (Task 3.2);
-
Organization of the admission process for NIMP candidates at the partner institutions (Task 3.3);
-
Delivery of the NIMP programme in line with the established academic schedule (Task 3.4);
-
Mentoring of Moldovan teaching staff by EU partners during programme implementation (Task 3.5);
-
Organization of a dissemination breakfast seminar for prospective NIMP candidates (Task 5.4).
During the meeting, the project team presented the current status of all ongoing activities and the deliverables planned for the third and fourth quarters of Year 2. The discussion confirmed that most activities are progressing according to schedule, with several already completed and others approaching finalization.
The session also included the presentation of the third external evaluation report by Dr. Alice Buzdugan. Her assessment highlighted the overall consistency and quality of project implementation while offering constructive recommendations aimed at strengthening cooperation, sustainability, and impact. Key observations focused on enhancing collaboration between academia and industry, improving feedback mechanisms for deliverables, and ensuring that management and coordination processes remain transparent and efficient.
Members of the Advisory Group contributed with valuable insights, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong link between academic training and labor market needs. Particular attention was given to the current enrollment situation, noting that the first cohort of students was registered at UTM, while enrollment at USARB and USC is pending due to ongoing authorization procedures. It was clarified that this represents a temporary solution, and that full joint implementation is expected following the official accreditation of the master’s program.
Additional discussions addressed the use of virtual laboratory equipment, the potential for evaluating the effectiveness of training and co-teaching activities, and the need to systematically collect feedback from both students and academic staff. The importance of sustainability, dissemination, and long-term impact was repeatedly emphasized, including the necessity of maintaining strong links with industry partners and ensuring the continuous relevance of the program to labor market needs.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to quality, transparency, and continuous improvement. Participants reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening cooperation across institutions and to ensuring the successful implementation and long-term sustainability of the NIMP program. The next Monitoring and Quality Assurance Advisory Group meeting is scheduled to take place in May–June 2026, with the exact date to be confirmed through consultation among AG and QAB members.
