On December 11, 2024, the second Monitoring Quality Assurance (MQA) virtual meeting within the ERASMUS+ project NEEDEDU4.0 – Enhancing Mechanical Engineering Education in Moldova for Industry 4.0 took place, bringing together members of the Quality Assurance Board (QAB), Advisory Group (AG), and project management team. The event, coordinated by UNITBV as leader of Work Package 4, provided an essential platform for reviewing progress, assessing quality, and aligning future steps with the strategic vision of the project.
The main goal of the second MQA meeting was to assess the quality of the project’s activities and deliverables in accordance with the project implementation timeline. Discussions focused on monitoring progress, evaluating challenges, and ensuring compliance with both national and European quality standards.
According to the project implementation plan, the following activities were under review:
-
Design of the study program on the NIMP (2.1)
-
Design of curricula per training module (2.2)
-
Organization of the Teach-the-Teacher Programme (2.4)
-
Development of a blended learning concept for the master’s program (2.5)
During the discussions, the participants raised several critical points:
-
Two optional disciplines (Product Quality Management and Advanced Methods of Quality Inspection) within the master’s program were found to hold equal importance. It was suggested to unify these into one core subject, possibly under a revised title such as Quality Control or Experimental Measurement Engineering, subject to final decision by the responsible team.
-
A strong emphasis was placed on the upcoming deadline for activities 2.1 and 2.2, both due by the end of December 2024. Partners were urged to accelerate efforts to ensure timely delivery.
-
Institutions from Moldova — UTM, USARB, and USCH — were advised to implement specific corrective measures to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
-
The urgent appointment of course leaders from each Moldovan university was stressed as a priority, to ensure accountability and streamline the development of course content.
The meeting reinforced the commitment of all partners to transparency, open communication, and rigorous quality assurance. As noted by the management representatives, timely feedback and joint decision-making are crucial in building a robust inter-university master’s program that aligns with the long-term goals of the project and the vision of Education 4.0.
